The promise of a fairytale

When I'm down and out and I see no help,
Everything in me says I'll fail,
I close my eyes and i see her,
Poor Cindrella all tired and pale.

I see Rapunzel locked up in the tower,
She's calling for help but in vain,
Oh dear, Snow White! She is spelled to a sleep,
So many fairies, all in pain.†

In a flashing moment I see them again,
Cindrella dressed so blue and bright,
Rapunzel with her prince on a horse,
Galloping away out of sight!

Snow White is awake with a kiss from her love,
Every fairy is happy and gay,
They smile at me, and I smile back,
I am prepared now, come what may!

It is a promise of hope, a hope that
Even powerful dragons can be made to wail,
So take out time, and read to your child,
Some pages from a fairy tale.
